Fredericksburg Convention and Visitor Bureau

Want to know where all the cool kids (and former kids) hang out? Guests to Gillespie County can make their first stop at the Fredericksburg Convention and Visitor Bureau (FCVB) to find out.

The FCVB, located at 302 E. Austin St., one block north of Main Street, offers lots of information to learn about the city, from magazines like this one to brochures, videos and other information in both print and digital form.

Two other organizations — the Gillespie County Economic Development Commission and the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce — also are available to help businesses either relocate or improve through a variety of offerings.

CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU

Fredericksburg Convention and Visitor Bureau | visitfredericksburgtx.com

The Fredericksburg Convention and Visitor Bureau promotes Fredericksburg and Gillespie County as a leisure destination for group tours, reunions, weddings and meeting sites, as well as for the hundreds of thousands of individuals who visit the area. The staff also markets the region all over the globe with its popular “Love Fredericksburg” campaign that highlights reasons to love this part of the Texas Hill Country.

The FCVB staffs and operates the Visitor Information Center, which is open Mondays through Saturdays, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sundays, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. This organization is funded by a portion of the city and county hotel occupancy taxes paid by those staying overnight. Visitors can also gather information on activities, accommodations and businesses of interest through magazines and brochures in the lobby area, which includes information on walking tours, historic sites, an events calendar, city and county maps and driving trail maps, to name a few.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION

Gillespie County Economic Development Commission | gillespiecountyedc.com

The Gillespie County Economic Development Commission has its finger on the economic pulse of the county and helps recruit and ease the transition for new businesses which are the right fit for this special market.

The GCEDC is a collaborative partnership between the city and county and its mission is to encourage, enhance and promote managed economic development throughout the county. The GCEDC is governed by a board of directors with nine voting members and employs an executive director.

CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce | fbgtxchamber.org

The Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce works on business education, advocacy, communication and business-to-business assistance. It also hosts the Fredericksburg Food & Wine Fest, one of the premiere events for the town that showcases the quality and diversity of food and drink offerings in the region.

Catering to more than 800 members — a huge amount for a town of just over 12,000 — the Chamber works to create a positive business environment. Its staff coordinates events, volunteers and highlights accomplishments at its annual banquet in March.
