Die Künstler von Fredericksburg (the artists of Fredericksburg), or DK for short, is an all-volunteer, non-profit artist group founded in 1993; its name honors the city’s German heritage. DK provides exhibits of local artists for the community to enjoy, which encourages artists at every level of experience to develop their talent. They also support the Gillespie County schools’ art programs.
Monthly meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month from September through June at the Gillespie County Historical Society Sanctuary, 312 W. San Antonio St. Most meetings feature a live demonstration by an area art professional.
Anyone interested in making art, learning about art, or just appreciating art is encouraged to attend the free meetings and sample the organization’s outreach to the arts community.
More information about the group and its monthly meetings can be found online at dkfredericksburg.org.
