Choir-Filled Christmas Tree

Choir-Filled Christmas Tree

Every December, singers climb bleachers to make a 30-foot tall singing Christmas Tree. Together the 65-person choir put on an hour-long concert of traditional music, German carols and holiday classics.

The annual Singing Christmas Tree concert will be Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 6-7 at Pioneer Museum, located at 325 W. Main St. In German, the tradition is called Der Singende Weihnachtsbaum.

The concert is free, but donations are appreciated. Attendees will enter the museum grounds through the Milam Street gate. For seating, bringing lawn chairs is recommended.

The Gillespie County Historical Society and Fredericksburg United Methodist Church are co-sponsoring the event. It is funded through a grant from the Pedernales Creative Arts Alliance.
