One parade is not enough. Along with the Light the Night Christmas parade, Fredericksburg hosts a Santa Day Parade. This year the parade and following Kinderfest event will be Saturday, Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The holiday celebration is co-hosted by Pioneer Museum and the Fredericksburg Jaycees.
Old St. Nick will ride through downtown atop a Fredericksburg Fire Department engine to start the event. He will end his ride at the museum to visit with local children, for the annual Kinderfest. There he will pose for photos and hear their Christmas wish lists.
Children 10 and under are encouraged to bring a stocking to hang on a giant fireplace to be filled by Santa. The day is filled with music, stories, treats and crafts.
The event is sponsored in part by Bethany Lutheran Foundation and H-E-B.
